Guided Walking in Snowdonia

Example Guided-Walking Programmes


Three-day programme

A three-day programme consists of three days walking, typically as follows:

  • Evening of arrival (Day one):

    • Arrive in the evening for welcome refreshments in the drawing-room with log-fire

    • Group and Guide introductions and discussion on the following day’s walk

    • Dinner may be taken at a local restaurant or pub (booked for you)

  • Day one:

    • Traditional cooked breakfast

    • Collect packed lunches and your own flasks (filled with tea, coffee, soup)

    • Guided group walk

    • Return to Abercelyn leave wet gear in the drying room overnight

    • Afternoon tea in the drawing-room with log-fire

    • Soak in a hot bath or shower

    • Discus the next day’s walk while relaxing with your favourite apéritif

    • Dinner may be taken at a local restaurant or pub (booked for you)

  • Day two: as above

  • Day three:

    • Traditional cooked breakfast

    • Collect packed lunches and your own flasks (filled with tea, coffee, soup)

    • Clear rooms and put luggage into storage area or car

    • Guided group walk

    • Return to Abercelyn by 3pm, afternoon tea, shower and leave around 4pm

 The four-day programme follows the same pattern as above, but with four-days walking.


Seven-day programme

A seven-day programme consists of five days walking and a rest day, typically as follows:

  • Evening of arrival (Day one):

    • Arrive in the evening for welcome refreshments in the drawing-room with log-fire

    • Group and Guide introductions and discussion on the following day’s walk

    • Dinner may be taken at a local restaurant or pub (booked for you)

  • Day one:

    • Traditional cooked breakfast

    • Collect packed lunches and your own flasks (filled with tea, coffee, soup)

    • Guided group walk

    • Return to Abercelyn leave wet gear in the drying room overnight

    • Afternoon tea in the drawing-room with log-fire

    • Soak in a hot bath or shower

  • Day two: as above

  • Day three: as above

  • Day four (free-day):

    • Traditional cooked breakfast

    • You are free to go sightseeing or other activity

    • Dinner may be taken at a local restaurant or pub (booked for you)

  • Day five: as day one (guided walk, etc.)

  • Day six: as day one (guided walk, etc.)

  • Day seven:

    • Traditional cooked breakfast

    • Leave early morning

The six-day programme follows the same pattern as above but with four days walking.
