What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt using the internet and GPS units to locate hidden treasure boxes or caches
Using the Internet you select a geocache and load the position into your GPS unit
Once you have found the geocache you can log this on the internet and share your experience
A geocache is usually a small plastic box containing treasure (small items) and a log book - you may take an item but please leave something else
GPS (Global Positioning System) units are hand-held devices that receive signals from multiple satellites and give your position.
An "Introduction to Geocaching" Course will generally consist of:
